Estate Administration
Estate administration is the process of finalising a person’s affairs after death. This responsibility is typically undertaken by the executor named in the Will, or by an administrator appointed in accordance with legislation where no Will exists.
An executor or administrator must act in the best interests of the beneficiaries and is responsible for a range of duties, including arranging the funeral, identifying and securing assets, determining liabilities, managing estate assets, paying debts and liabilities, and distributing the estate in accordance with the Will or applicable legislation.
This role can be complex, time-consuming, and emotionally challenging, particularly during a period of grief, and requires careful compliance with legal and taxation obligations.
Our fees for estate administration are time costed (i.e. fees are charged on a per hour basis) at a rate of $550.00 per hour.
